INTRODUCTION

Acme Engineering Ltd was established in 1935 as a blacksmithing and welding company based in Central Wellington. Shortly afterwards the company moved to it's current premises in Petone, Wellington, and has steadily expanded.

Acme is now one of the largest and most versatile general engineering companies in New Zealand with both design and construction capability encompassing all classes of machine shop work, heavy steel fabrication and section rolling.

Our in house design office is headed by registered professional engineers and the company uses CAD and other specialist design software.

The company head office and main works are located at Hutt Road, Petone. In addition well equipped workshops are located at Toop Street in Seaview, Wellington, at Broad Street in Woolston, Christchurch and Aerodrome Road, Mount Maunganui. In total the company has 7800 mē of covered workshops.

Acme Engineering has grown to its present position as one of the industry leaders in New Zealand by investing in modern equipment and maintaining high standards. Acme owns all its plant, equipment, land and buildings. The company has an excellent credit rating with suppliers and has the management expertise, flexibility, production capability and financial strength to carry out large projects as the main contractor.

The machine shop carries out a wide range of jobbing work including gear hobbing and cutting, lathe work, milling, boring and all types of plant overhaul.
